Offensively, the Texas Rangers have excelled during the first half of the season, consistently ranking among the top teams in the league. They have particularly benefited from the league’s shift ban, surpassing other teams in runs scored and ranking in the top three in wOBA and wRC+.

A significant portion of the Rangers’ lineup has been selected for the All-Star Game in Seattle. Starters Jonah Heim (catcher), Marcus Semien (second baseman), Josh Jung (third baseman), and Corey Seager (shortstop) will represent the team, while Adolis Garcia joins as a reserve outfielder.

Both starting pitchers in this matchup possess xERAs above 4.35 and are likely to encounter challenges, as they struggle to generate strikeouts and are prone to allowing hard contact.

As division rivals, these teams are highly familiar with each other and have faced their respective opponents’ pitchers numerous times, often with success. Houston has a .335 xwOBA against Perez, while Texas holds a .311 xwOBA against Javier.
