Georgia is favored by 5.5 points on FanDuel Sportsbook. That feels right, because the Bulldogs have looked a step ahead of ‘Bama this year, but we all know that the Crimson Tide won’t go down easy.
When comparing these teams’ regular seasons, Georgia has been a little more consistent. For one, the Bulldogs remain unbeaten and have only played two one-score games this whole season, both of which were on the road. Alabama, on the other hand, lost to Texas, won close over Texas A&M and Arkansas, and barely escaped Auburn in the Iron Bowl.
It just goes to show how impressive Georgia has been as it looks to three-peat. A big reason there hasn’t been a drop-off is quarterback Carson Beck, who has thrown for 3,495 yards and 22 touchdowns in his first season as a starter. He’s helped by great skill players like Brock Bowers, Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint, Ladd McConkey, and a deep stable of running backs. For as good as Jalen Milroe and the Alabama offense has been at times this season, Georgia’s passing game is an X-factor that I’m not sure Alabama can match.
