game shows

When Tim Bliefnick appeared on an episode of Family Feud three years ago, he was asked by host Steve Harvey about the “biggest mistake you made at your wedding?” Bliefnick, all smiles, replied, “Honey, I love you, but, ‘Said I do!”

“I’m gonna get in trouble for that, aren’t I?” Bliefnick then asked a stone-faced Harvey.

No matter what the circumstances of the marriage were at the time of the show, the joke would seem ill-advised, but the words just seem haunting now that Bliefnick has been convicted of killing his wife Rebecca, who did not appear with him on the episode.

Rebecca Bliefnick was found shot to death at her home in Quincy, Illinois on Feb. 23 after having an order of protection placed against her husband, as well as his father. The couple, who share three young sons, were in the midst of divorce proceedings at the time of her death.

Tim, who was arrested for the death in March, was found guilty on two counts of first-degree murder and one count of home invasion in connection with the death of Rebecca, per People.

During the trial, it was revealed that Rebecca sent numerous text messages to friends and family indicating that she feared for her safety, and Tim’s phone history revealed numerous disturbing search terms, including how to open a door with a crowbar and how to make a homemade pistol silencer.

Tim will be sentenced on Aug. 11. He could face life in prison for the crime.
