Drake London’s 2025 season got off to a shaky start.

The former first-round pick caught eight passes for just 55 yards before leaving the game early with a shoulder injury in the Falcons’ nail-biting loss to divisional rival Buccaneers on Sunday.

Even with that underwhelming performance, there’s reason to believe London, who was cleared to play Sunday’s game against the Vikings on Friday, is still primed for a big year with Michael Penix Jr. behind center in Atlanta.

London was targeted 15 times and had a 35.7 percent target share in Sunday’s game.

That would’ve been the third-most targets he received in a game last season, which was a career year for the fourth-year pass catcher.

It was a continuation of the Penix-London love affair that began late last season.

In Penix’s three starts in 2024, London had 352 total receiving yards on 22 catches with two touchdowns and a whopping 39 percent target share.

London, Penix, and the Falcons will take on a Minnesota team that allowed 198 passing yards to the Bears’ Caleb Williams.

That number would have been much higher had Williams been able to hit a few open receivers late in the game.

The Vikings will also be without perhaps their best defensive player, Andrew Van Ginkel, who is in concussion protocol after Monday’s game.

Expect a stronger game from London with the cobwebs of Week 1 out of the way.
