Hot off the press! All 10 episodes of The Paper are now streaming on Peacock. To celebrate, the streamer is turning the streets of NYC into a love letter to local newspapers. Greg Daniels’ and Michael Koman’s new workplace mockumentary—which is set in the same universe as The Office—follows new Editor-In-Chief Ned Sampson (Domhnall Gleeson) as he tries to revive The Toledo Truth Teller, a struggling Midwestern newspaper in Toledo, Ohio, by inspiring the staff to do real journalism once again. There to capture it all is the documentary crew that once immortalized Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton branch in the Emmy Award-winning series predecessor.
On Tuesday, September 9 from 8:30 AM – 2:30 PM ET, fans of The Paper can head to Rockefeller Center (50 Rockefeller Plaza, New York, NY) and Flatiron Plaza (23rd &, Broadway, New York, NY) to show their love for the exciting new Peacock series by checking out immersive, pop-up newsstands inspired by The Toledo Truth Teller itself. Guests are invited to marvel at the impressive “Tower of Truth” installation and enjoy complimentary PopUp Bagels as they devour every bite of the news (just remember the bagels are first come, first served).
Best of all? The Paper star Oscar Nuñez, who is reprising his iconic role as accountant Oscar Martinez from The Office, will make a special appearance and greet a few lucky fans. Nuñez’s involvement in The Paper is a welcome treat for fans of the original series.
New Yorkers, mark your calendars! This special experience is a one-day only event (Tuesday, September 9). Come celebrate one of the buzziest shows on streaming.
