Fresh off performing at the MTV Video Music Awards, longtime pop sensation Ricky Martin has listed his massive Upper East Side home for $6.45 million — down from its initial $8.4 million ask nearly a decade ago, Gimme Shelter has learned.
Beyond bringing the home to market, Martin has enjoyed a rather good week. On Sept. 7, the “Livin’ La Vida Loca” star was handed MTV’s first-ever Latin Icon Award by his pal Jessica Simpson.
At the New York ceremony, Martin, 53, dedicated the award to his kids. He has 17-year-old twins Matteo and Valentino — he had them as a single dad via a surrogate — and daughter Lucia, 6, and son Renn, 5, who were also both born via a surrogate with his then-husband, Jwan Yosef.
As for the home, Martin purchased the full-floor, four-bedroom spread at 170 East End Ave. for $5.9 million in 2012. He also owns a mid-century mansion in Beverly Hills.
Martin’s New York nest — in a luxury building designed by Peter Marino overlooking Carl Schurz Park by the East River — is 3,147 square feet.
It opens to a large foyer that leads to living and dining area, with 10-foot-high floor-to-ceiling windows. There’s also a windowed chef’s kitchen, with custom cabinetry by Marino.
The residence also boasts two primary bedroom suites with spa-like marble baths.
A fifth room currently can function as a study, a library, a nursery or a media room, the listing notes. There’s also a secondary service entrance that opens to a mud room.
Building amenities include a gym with Pilates and yoga studios, a squash court, a children’s playroom and an oak-paneled library. Outside, there’s a landscaped courtyard with a waterfall and on-site parking.
The listing brokers are Michael J. Franco and Miriam Richards, of Compass, who declined to comment.
