BALTIMORE — Brandon Nimmo wants only the best players in the All-Star game.

Speaking not just for his Mets teammate Juan Soto, who is absent from the National League roster for Tuesday’s Midsummer Classic, but himself — as someone overlooked for a spot in previous years — Nimmo told The Post on Thursday that he’s no fan of the rule that places a representative from each team into the event.

“The process is broken,” Nimmo said before the Mets played a doubleheader against the Orioles at Camden Yards. “I don’t think every team should get a person. It’s supposed to be All-Stars. It’s not supposed to be, ‘Who is the best player on every team?’ It’s supposed to be ‘Who are the best players in the major leagues?’”

To that end, Nimmo is frustrated that Soto — whose .903 OPS entering Thursday night’s play ranked ninth in MLB — was not selected to the NL roster.
