Here’s a Los Angeles listing that will make you go “Aah-eeh-ah-eeh-aaaaaah-eeh-ah-eeh-aaaaah!”
This Laurel Canyon estate — where Elizabeth Taylor and Shirley Temple reportedly learned to swim — was once home to “Tarzan” actor Johnny Weissmuller, and it’s now on the market for $4.99 million.
The picturesque compound dates to 1925 and comes with everything from an “authentic teepee” to an amphitheater, all on 1.27 acres.
Weissmuller, also a five-time Olympic gold medalist in swimming and water polo, was a Hollywood star who played Tarzan in multiple films beginning in 1932. While he wasn’t the first actor to play Tarzan, he is remembered in part for his famed “Tarzan yell.” He died in 1984 at the age of 79.
The seller is Hollywood producer Raul Gasteazoro, who most recently directed and wrote the 2025 film, “The Protector.”
Gasteazoro bought the secluded property — deceptively close to the city — in 2016 for $950,000, according to property records. He is relocating to Ojai with his son to start their next chapter, friends said.
The hillside compound, at 3501 Laurel Canyon, features multiple residences totaling six bedrooms and eight baths. It’s in the most coveted enclave known as Fryman Canyon — and it boasts stunning canyon and valley views, direct park access and private parking for more than 12 cars.
The compound’s structures include a 1,200-square-foot carriage house with two bedrooms, one bath and a brass-accented kitchen.
In addition, there’s a two-bedroom pool house with a chef’s kitchen overlooking the pool and the teepee, and a hilltop writer/artist’s studio with panoramic views.
