Sign Up NowTORONTO – Cam Schlittler, the Yankees late-season revelation and postseason hero who seemingly came out of nowhere, comes right at you no matter the venue.
On the mound or in the clubhouse, it’s almost all fastballs and very few curveballs.
There’s little trickery in his game or manner. Like in Game 3, his memorable masterpiece where 96 out of 107 pitches was hard stuff (four-seam fastballs, sinkers and cutters), that’s how he is in person.
Schlittler is a Boston product born and bred Red Sox fan, and a day later he threw some figurative fastballs at his former brethren, the faithful of the Old Towne team, while speaking in the cramped visitors’ clubhouse at otherwise beautiful Rogers.
