Former Texas wide receiver Isaiah Bond was cleared of sexual assault charges and is quickly getting started on his NFL career. 

In April, just weeks before the 2025 draft, Bond turned himself in to police in Frisco, Texas, over an outstanding warrant involving the sexual assault allegations. He went undrafted despite being projected to be an early-to-mid-round draft pick before the allegations surfaced. 

On Thursday, a grand jury returned a “no bill” account, and Bond then announced he was signing with the Browns, though the team has not made anything official.

“First and foremost, I want to express my deepest gratitude to the Cleveland Browns for believing in me and allowing me the opportunity to continue my career in the NFL,” Bond wrote in a statement on X.

Bond addressed the charges in his statement, writing,  “I know there have been questions and reports about the recent allegations. I am grateful for the decision of the prosecutor and the courts not to pursue charges. I will learn from this experience as I grow in wisdom, character and faith. 

“On the advice of my attorney, I will not discuss the details of this case, but I want to be clear: From the very beginning, I have refuted these allegations and maintained my innocence. I stand firm by that today.”

Bond released a statement on Instagram shortly after the news broke, denying the charges.

“Regarding the accusation made against me, I would appreciate the time and opportunity to defend myself and prove the claims made, patently false,” he wrote. “I am in full cooperation with the authorities and will remain a willing and active participant in the investigation. Unfortunately, claims like these prove to be harmful to all involved, absent full review. 

“I kindly request that all reserve judgement until the authorities provide a complete report based on truth and evidence.”

Bond starred for the Longhorns last season with 34 catches for 540 yards and five touchdowns in 14 games.
