Chosen Anderson’s latest opportunity at a career reset will come in Miami.
The Dolphins agreed to a contract with the ex-Jet on Sunday, according to ESPN, and added the former 1000-yard wideout coming off a disastrous 2022 season — where he was kicked out of a game by his Panthers coach and later traded to the Cardinals.
Anderson will presumably compete with former teammate Braxton Berrios and ex-Cowboy Cedrick Wilson for the third receiver spot behind Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle.
Miami needed to fill the void left by Trent Sherfield, who departed for the Buffalo Bills over the offseason.
Anderson was traded by the Panthers last season after he was kicked out of a game and sent to the locker room by interim head coach Steve Wilks.
He had multiple arguments with coaches on the sidelines, with the Panthers trailing the Rams by double-digits in their October game, and Wilks. The coach, who had just inherited the team on an interim basis earlier that week after Matt Rhule’s firing, approached Anderson and directed him to the locker room.
Anderson’s time with the Cardinals was particularly uninspiring, with just seven catches for 76 yards in 10 games after teaming up with Kyler Murray and DeAndre Hopkins.
The 29-year-old Anderson had 284 yards on 20 catches in 16 games between the Cardinals and Panthers in 2022.
The undrafted Anderson had four productive seasons with the Jets to start his career with 20 touchdown catches and 3,059 yards receiving.
His first year away from New York started off with a career year in Carolina.
In 2020, Anderson caught 95 passes for 1,096 yards and three touchdowns with Teddy Bridgewater as his starting quarterback.
He has since changed his first name twice, from Robby to Robbie and then from Robbie to Chosen last month.
