New Lions safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson did not hold back when discussing his former Eagles fanbase.
During a video game livestream on Wednesday, Gardner-Johnson was asked by a fan what his favorite part about playing in the City of Brotherly Love was, as well as what he loathed, to which he subsequently unloaded on Philadelphia faithful.
“My least favorite thing is the people,” Gardner-Johnson said in a now-viral video. “They’re f–king obnoxious, I f–king can’t stand the f–kers.”
In the same breath, Gardner-Johnson added he didn’t mind the weather in Philadelphia.
The comments come roughly four months after he signed a one-year, $8 million deal with the Lions in the offseason.

The former University of Florida product spent just one season in Philadelphia in 2022.
He began his career with the Saints, who selected him in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL Draft.
The bad blood with Philly fans included an incident earlier in the year, when Gardner-Johnson said his car was stolen after the Eagles manhandled the Giants, 38-7, during the playoffs in January.
“I know exactly who stole my s–t, don’t worry we got y’all on camera. That’s how y’all get down in Philly.. after a win?” Gardner-Johnson said on his Instagram Live at the time.
Weeks later, Gardner-Johnson took aim at former Eagles defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon following Philadelphia’s 38-35 Super Bowl loss to the Chiefs in February 2022.
“You ain’t put us in position to make plays,” Gardner-Johnson wrote in a tweet referencing Gannon that has since been deleted.
Gardner-Johnson is entering his fifth season in the league — in a new city with new fans — after finishing 2022 with a league-leading total of six interceptions, a feat also accomplished by Steelers safety Minkah Fitzpatrick, Broncos safety Justin Simmons and Seahawks cornerback Tariq Woolen.
The Lions’ training camp opens July 29 and Detroit will kick off the season on the road Thursday, Sept. 7, in Kansas City.
