It’s finally happening – Black Mirror is returning to Netflix in two weeks. Charlie Brooker’s dark anthology series will release its sixth season later this month and to tide us over until then, the streamer has dropped an awe-inspiring and eventful trailer.

The trailer teases five “new mindfucks” in what Netflix calls “the most unpredictable, unclassifiable and unexpected” season yet. The new season includes appearances by Aaron Paul, Annie Murphy, Ben Barnes, Danny Ramirez, Himesh Patel, Michael Cera, Salma Hayek Pinault, and more.

The new episodes are highly anticipated as the previous season premiered nearly five years ago on June 5, 2019 and only consisted of three episodes. Shortly before Season 5, the franchise released the interactive movie, Bandersnatch, which premiered to critical acclaim.

Do you have questions about the new season of Black Mirror? Don’t worry, we’re here to break it all down for you. Continue reading for everything you need to know about the upcoming drop of episodes, including the release date and episode descriptions.

Black Mirror will premiere all episodes from Season 6 on June 15, 2023. The season consists of five episodes written by showrunner Charlie Brooker, who has won several Emmy Awards for his work on the show.

The new trailer gives a sneak peek into many of the new episodes, paying a keen focus to “Joan is Awful,” which stars Annie Murphy and Salma Hayek — the latter of which plays herself. And there’s plenty of more where that came from. Below are the episode descriptions for all five new episodes, per Netflix.

Joan is Awful“: An average woman discovers a global streaming platform — which is an obvious spoof of Netflix called Streamberry — has launched a prestige television adaptation of her life, in which she is portrayed by Hollywood A-lister Salma Hayek. The episode stars Annie Murphy, Ben Barnes, Himesh Patel, Michael Cera, Rob Delaney, and Salma Hayek Pinault, and was directed by Ally Pankiw.

Loch Henry“: A young couple travel to a Scottish town to start work on a nature documentary, but find themselves drawn to a juicy local story involving shocking events of the past. The episode stars Daniel Portman, John Hannah, Monica Dolan, Myha’la Herrold, and Samuel Blenkin, and was directed by Sam Miller.

Beyond the Sea“: Is this Black Mirror‘s first episode in space? In an alternative 1969, two men on a perilous high-tech mission wrestle with the consequences of an unimaginable tragedy. The episode stars Aaron Paul, Auden Thornton, Josh Hartnett, Kate Mara, and Rory Culkin, and was directed by John Crowley

Mazey Day“: A troubled starlet who was recently ousted from her movie set is stalked by paparazzi while dealing with the consequences of a hit-and-run incident. The episode stars Clara Rugaard, Danny Ramirez, and Zazie Beetz, and was directed by Uta Briesewitz.

Demon 79“: Set in Northern England, 1979, a sales assistant is told she must commit terrible acts to prevent disaster. The episode stars Anjana Vasan and Paapa Essiedu, and was directed by Toby Haynes.
