Season 3 of Netflix‘s Love on the Spectrum returns with new and familiar faces. The romantic docuseries follows several people on the autism spectrum as they dive into the dating pool, hoping to find love.
The series showcases the journeys of singles from across the country as they are helped by the expertise of dating coach Jennifer Cook.
Ahead of the news season, Netflix asked for the cast’s thoughts on how the show has changed their everyday and dating lives.
Featured single James told the streamer, “I have still been working, still been finding time for fun, and I have still been enjoying my fame.” Along with the other returning cast members, James has amassed thousands of followers across social media following the release of Season 1.
The rest of the cast spoke about how joining the show has changed their lives for the better, and they feel like they are emotionally maturing despite the challenge of dating with autism. One of the newcomers, Pari, told Netflix she joined the show to encourage others while celebrating her autism and challenging stereotypes. She will focus this season on dating women despite having been with men in the past.
And of course, dating Coach and neurodiversity expert Jennifer Cook returns and takes a unique approach to each client she handles. Cook recommends that her clients develop patience and communication skills:
“I know it’s hard to wait for that special someone! We all want to feel important right now. But given a little time and space to grow naturally, healthy communication develops and chemistry sizzles. Learning to let go of the need to control — to orchestrate what love will look and sound like — is a bit scary … oh, but it’s worth it,” she told Netflix.
Like most things in life, the juice is worth the squeeze. Here’s everything we know about Love on the Spectrum Season 3.
Season 3 premieres April 2 on Netflix. Seasons 1 and 2 are both currently streaming in full on the platform.
Yes! The trailer for this season reveals plenty to look forward to in Netflix’s heartwarming series. Watch it below:
Fan favorites Abbey, Connor, Dani, David, James, Adan, and Tanner will be returning alongside newcomers Pari and Madison. The trailer updated fans on the cast’s journey and Abbey and David’s relationship status, confirming they are still together and will return as the show’s only couple.
When the cast was asked about their ideal partner, James jokingly replied, “Oh, I’m not sure if we have that much time.”
Then Tanner answered, “Someone who is talkative like me and a girl who eats nicely.” Proper dining etiquette is genuinely an underrated standard to ensure your partner has.
Connor replied to the question, “Witty, charming, I got a weakness for brunettes” — a tragic response for single blondes to hear.
Meanwhile, Pari described her ideal partner and added, “I mean, there’s like 8 billion people in the world. Somebody has got to be the one for me,” an optimistic perspective for the newcomer.
The trailer promises another season of a rollercoaster of emotions, highlighting some of the ups and downs of the dating world. A brief montage highlights this season’s mix of awkward dates, tears, and, as always, brutal honesty.
“I don’t think we’re a romantic match,” Madison said to her date’s face over lunch.
Season 3 is coming soon, but not soon enough. It’s sure to be another heartwarming season, with fans cheering for the cast and love itself.
