NextImg:Euphoric Yankees fans make free agency pitch to Juan Soto loud and clear

Juan Soto did his part to send the Yankees to the World Series.

And Yankees fans did their part in persuading him to stay in New York past this season.

After the Bronx Bombers slugger cranked a three-run homer that proved to be the series-winner in ALCS Game 5 on Saturday night, Yankees diehards at Cleveland’s Progressive Field made themselves loud in clear with how they feel about Soto.

Amid all the revelry on the field — with new hats, shirts and smiles on the Yankees — supporters in the crowd were loudly heard chanting “Re-sign Soto!”

The Yankees landed Soto in a blockbuster trade in the offseason with the Padres knowing full well that he would be a free agent after the 2024 season.

In August, The Post’s Jon Heyman polled thirteen experts, and, averaging their responses, predicted Soto would get about a $520.09 million contract.

Heyman reported on Oct. 10 that the Mets, Giants and Blue Jays likely will be the Yankees’ biggest competitors.

But with Soto sending the Yankees to the World Series for the first time in 15 years, it might be hard to imagine him anywhere other than in The Bronx.

Soto will now be playing in his second World Series, something he already won with the Nationals in 2019.
