Sydney Sweeney is no stranger to hanging out of moving cars — see Euphoria Season 2, Episode 1 if you don’t believe me. So it’s no shock that the star was the perfect candidate for the Rolling Stones’ latest music video, which premiered earlier today.
As the legendary band gears up for the Oct. 20 release of “Hackney Diamonds” — their first studio album since 2005 — they put out the first single, “Angry,” as well as its music video.
In it, Sweeney stars as a leather-cladded bombshell riding down the sunset strip in a vintage red convertible. While the actress sings along with the band, seductively dances on the car and thrashes her voluminous blonde locks into the wind, she is accompanied by animated billboards featuring the Rolling Stones playing the song.
Sweeney helped celebrate the music video’s debut at a London event, in which band members Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood were all in attendance.
“I freaked out and called my family,” Sweeney said, referring to the moment she was offered the part, per W Magazine. “This is the biggest thing ever. I didn’t know it was going to be the first single but I love the song, it’s stuck in my head.”
At only 25 years old, she sure has found herself as one of the most in-demand actresses as of late. Just this year, Sweeney — who appeared in Season 1 of The White Lotus in 2021 — has starred in HBO’s crime drama film, Reality, as well as the upcoming rom-com, Anyone But You, in which she and Glen Powell are set to play love interests.
However, most fans would recognize her from her role as Cassie Howard in the Sam Levinson-led drama Euphoria. While production for the highly anticipated third season is currently delayed due to the SAG-AFTRA strike, Sweeney previously teased what we can expect from her character.
“Cassie definitely has a lot more life to live and I can’t wait for everyone to see what Season 3 brings,” she told IndieWire.
