“Euphoria” star Angus Cloud was too “traumatized” to help scatter his dad’s ashes just one week before his own untimely death, family friends have revealed.
Cloud, 25, died Monday morning at home in Oakland, California. His mom, Lisa Cloud, reportedly called 911, saying her actor son had suffered a “possible overdose” and was without a pulse.
The breakout star was in the midst of mourning his father, Conor Hickey, who died following a brief battle with cancer on May 18.
Late last month, the Cloud-Hickey family flew from Oakland to Ireland to scatter Conor’s ashes in his native country.
The tragic actor jetted into Dublin with his mom and two younger sisters on July 19. The family returned to the US on July 23.
But sources say that while the rest of the family participated in the ceremony, Angus stayed in his hotel room, too upset to witness his father’s final farewell.
“He was just so traumatized that he could not attend,” family friend, Mick Gleeson, told the Daily Mail.
“He was in a very bad way and in total shock. He was in such a fragile state and struggling with the death of his father,” he continued.
“He was like a rabbit caught in the headlights and was just unable to come to terms with his loss,” Gleeson said. “I sat down with him and said he was now the man of the family, and he just could not handle it. He was a broken man.”

Another family friend said Angus was eventually able to gain some composure and later went with an aunt to scatter some of his dad’s ashes.
“I think coming back to his father’s place of birth and all that contained was just too much for him,” they stated. “He could not face the final goodbye to his father.”
Conor Hickey was born in Ireland before moving to California in the 1980s.
There, he met wife, Lisa Cloud, before the couple welcomed Angus in 1998. They went on to welcome twin daughters, Molly and Fiona, in 2003.
Angus was known to be very close to his dad, with the actor even posting a photo to Instagram on July 18 to mark two months since his dad’s death.
“Miss you breh,” the “Euphoria” star captioned the snap.
Angus’ mom and sisters released a statement Monday confirming Angus’ death.
“It is with the heaviest heart that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human today,” they stated. “As an artist, a friend, a brother and a son, Angus was special to all of us in so many ways.”
The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend,” the statement continued. “Angus was open about his battle with mental health and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence.”

Cloud shot to fame playing drug dealer Fezco in the hit HBO series, which premiered in 2019.
The actor’s co-stars, including Sydney Sweeney and Zendaya, have all paid tribute to the late actor on their social media accounts.
Meanwhile, an HBO spokesperson told The Post in a statement Monday: “We are incredibly saddened to learn of the passing of Angus Cloud. He was immensely talented and a beloved part of the HBO and ‘Euphoria’ family. We extend our deepest condolences to his friends and family during this difficult time.”
