The Post was founded by Alexander Hamilton but for decades mothered by Myron Rushetzky. Broadly titled “City Room Manager,” Myron was so much more to all of us, including readers who, by extension, benefitted from his mindset and 5-foot 5-inch vibrance — to serve and service a daily metropolitan newspaper.

Myron died last Friday at 73, losing an argument with stomach cancer, his kryptonite, for he was our Superman disguised as a diminutive, mostly mild-mannered dervish. And as a CCNY-bred sports fan, he was often in my ear and then, through winds and spirits, in this column. He cared about people, especially those pushed around by those entrusted to protect them.

I thought the readers of this column should know this because, well … just because.
