Erika Jayne doesn’t have much of a reaction to Garcelle Beauvais‘ surprise departure from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
Following the Season 14 finale, Jayne joined co-star Bozoma Saint John in the Bravo Clubhouse for Tuesday night’s (March 25) episode of Watch What Happens Live. Host Andy Cohen kicked things off by asking how they felt about Beauvais’ announcement that she was leaving the series earlier that day, though both women stayed quiet.
“You have no thoughts on it? Neither of you?” Cohen pressed.
Saint John finally said she was “disappointed” that Beauvais was “departing like this,” referring to the way the actress stormed out of the reunion in the teaser.
“I wish that she would’ve stuck around to work out another season,” Saint John added.
Jayne, for her part, told Cohen, “I mean, you were there. When we were at the reunion and I know that she was upset and obviously we’ve known that she quit for two weeks, OK? We knew this.”
When Cohen said he “didn’t know that she quit” for the last two weeks, Jayne rolled her eyes and declared, “Revisionist history.”
“No, no, no,” Cohen chimed in. “When she left the reunion, I wasn’t totally sure. She and I had a conversation last week.”
But Jayne knew Beauvais was checked out when she didn’t take the cast photo at the end of the reunion. “That is a clear indication that, ‘I am leaving,'” she added.
Beauvais, who joined the cast in Season 10, announced her exit in an Instagram video Tuesday morning, telling her followers that she decided to part ways with Bravo so she had more time to be a part of her sons’ lives as they head into their senior years of high school. She also said she was busy developing, producing, and acting in other projects. However, she didn’t rule out the possibility of a future return.
“The door will always be open, so you never know,” she said in the video. “I might pop back in sometime. To the fans, I want to say, thank you so much. You guys have cheered me on, supported me and sometimes even fought for me or on my behalf. It means a lot, and I hope you guys will continue on this journey with me. It’s not goodbye, it’s see you later.”
Watch What Happens Live airs Sunday through Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET on Bravo. New episodes are available to stream the next day on Peacock.
