Elon Musk was not happy with Dana Carvey‘s admittedly embarrassing impression of him during Saturday Night Live‘s cold open.

The cast kicked off the first episode since Donald Trump‘s victory with a rather somber explanation about how the former president “returned to office by an overwhelming majority,” as Heidi Gardner put it. Now that they no longer feel like they can “speak out against him,” SNL was bending the knee to the new president.

“That is why we at SNL would like to say to Donald Trump — we have been with you all along,” Kenan Thompson said to much laughter from the audience. “We have never wavered in our support of you, even when others doubted you,” Bowen Yang added.

They not only used the cold open to praise Trump, but they also gave Musk a chance to celebrate what is beginning to look like his own White House victory, too. But Musk was not impressed by the parody and trolled them on X, the social media site he owns. “They are so mad that @realDonaldTrump won,” he wrote.

Carvey enthusiastically took to the stage with a hopping entrance meant to mimic Musk’s embarrassing appearance at a Trump rally in Pennsylvania in October.

“Alright!” Carvey whooped in his best impression of Musk’s accent as he danced and hopped on stage. “Check it out, dark MAGA. Yeah! But seriously, I run the country now. America’s gonna be like one of my rockets that’s super cool and super fun. But there’s a slight chance it could blow up, and everybody dies.”

He added with a hop, “I’m dark MAGA! Steal the White House! USA! USA!”

But it looks like Musk didn’t see the resemblance. “Dana Carvey just sounds like Dana Carvey,” he later commented in another post.

He did not comment on James Austin Johnson’s shirtless and ripped Trump, which they toted out to show how they’re “going to do very flattering portrayal of Trump” from now on.

“He’s going to make an incredible President, and eventually king,” Johnson said.

It looks like we’ll be seeing more of Johnson this season and less of Maya Rudolph‘s Kamala Harris impression, as the show was seemingly banking on.

But this also means we will also get to see more of Yang’s hilarious parody of Trump’s vice president, J.D. Vance.
