Elle Fanning and her longtime boyfriend Max Minghella have broken up.
“The Great” actress confirmed she’s single again in a new interview with Harper’s Bazaar published Tuesday.
But the “The Girl from Plainville” actress, 24, isn’t giving up on love just yet.
“I’m a hopeless romantic. I believe in love at first sight,” she told the magazine. “Call me crazy, but I believe in those things. I feel that it’s my destiny.”
Fanning still has big hopes for her future in regard to both starting a family and continuing her acting career.
“I’d love to play Grace Kelly in something. And to have kids,” she said.
Fanning and the “Handmaid’s Tale” actor, 37, started dating after meeting on the set of their 2018 movie “Teen Spirit.” In the film, directed by Minghella, Fanning played the role of Violet, a Polish teenager with dreams of becoming a pop star.
That summer, the pair sparked romance rumors when they were spotted looking flirty as they went for a stroll together in London.
Fanning has kept their relationship relatively private over the years, though she did call him “such a good friend” during a 2019 interview with Entertainment Tonight.
That same year, the pair made their red carpet debut at the 2019 Met Gala and posed for photos together on the star-studded red carpet.
They also made another rare appearance together when Fanning accompanied Minghella to the LA premiere of “Babylon” last December.
And in January, a source told Us Weekly that Fanning and Minghella, who have a 13-year age gap, were “super solid” in their relationship.
“The age difference isn’t an issue at all,” the insider claimed at the time. “Elle loves how mature and intelligent Max is. He’s a real intellect with a big passion for arts and culture.”
The source also claimed that they were serious enough that an engagement wasn’t out of the question.
“Nobody would be surprised if Max proposes soon,” the insider had said. “Elle would most likely love that too, but he’s keeping those cards close to his chest.”
But with the news of their recent breakup, it seems that Fanning could have been hearing alarm bells instead of wedding bells.
And it’s quite possible the “Maleficent” star was already single when she was seen partying hard for her sister Dakota Fanning’s 29th birthday in February.
Elle was photographed dancing on a table surrounded by shot glasses filled with alcohol as the “Uptown Girls” actress watched in shock.
Minghella and Elle have not commented on when exactly they ended their relationship and their reps did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
Elle was briefly romantically linked to Zalman Band in 2015 and dated Dylan Beck a year prior.
Meanwhile, Minghella dated Kate Mara for four years before breaking up in 2014.
