The Philadelphia Eagles have gone through a demanding part of their schedule of late, and the results have not been favorable.
The Eagles won three straight against the Cowboys, Chiefs and Bills in games all decided by five points or fewer.
However, Philadelphia went backward the past two weeks with blowout losses at the hands of San Francisco and Dallas, both teams right in the NFL Super Bowl conversation.
Now, the Eagles travel to the Pacific Northwest for Monday night’s showdown against the Seattle Seahawks, who are playing for their postseason lives at 6-7.
(8:15 p.m. ET. ESPN)
The Seahawks have gone the wrong way since a 6-3 start by dropping four straight games, capped off by a 28-16 defeat to the 49ers last week.
The only good news for Pete Carroll’s team of late is the Seahawks have covered three times during this slide, which all came on the road.
At home, Seattle has failed to cover the spread in five of six games at Lumen Field.
The Seahawks have been listed as a home underdog only once and were blown out by the 49ers on Thanksgiving night, 31-13.
The big concern for the Eagles is the status of quarterback Jalen Hurts, who is listed as questionable.
Hurts has been sick and there is no word if he will get the start or veteran Marcus Mariota will come in to make his first start of the season.
The Eagles have won four of five games this season as a road favorite, with the lone loss coming to the Jets after blowing a double-digit lead.
The availability of Hurts is the major turning point in this game, but it’s hard to pass on Philadelphia after running that gauntlet and finishing with two losses.
Let’s back the Eagles here against the Seahawks on Monday night, provided Hurts plays.
