The Eagles avoided a potentially disastrous injury for Jalen Hurts.
The Philly quarterback was clearly banged up during Sunday’s win over the Miami Dolphins and played the second half with a brace on his left leg.
While there was concern about the knee issue, it seems like Hurts avoided any serious injury, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
The NFL insider reported Monday afternoon that Hurts’ knee issue isn’t something that would prevent him from playing and there’s a “good chance it won’t even keep him out of practice.”
Hurts had told reporters that was “fine” after the game and didn’t anticipate having to do anything in order to be ready for the Eagles’ Week 8 game against the Washington Commanders.
Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni had also said on Monday that Hurts had been in “good spirits.”
“We’ll see later in the week of how he’s feeling and everything,” Sirianni said. “I know that he battled through being uncomfortable yesterday. He can answer some of those questions as far as how he felt and all those different things.
“I just know this guy is tough as nails and is going to do everything he can do to help our football team win. He knows to help our football team win he has to be on the field, and just credit to him for him playing one of his better games this season through some discomfort that he had yesterday.”
Hurts played the entire game on Sunday night and took several big hits in the first half.
Backup quarterback Marcus Mariota had started to warm up in the third quarter, but never took a snap.

Hurts was 23-of-31 for 279 yards and two touchdown passes in the victory.
He had another 11 yards on the ground and a rushing touchdown to boot.
