The Eagles’ defense just got even better.
A day after holding the explosive Dolphins to 17 points, the Eagles on Monday acquired two-time Pro Bowl safety Kevin Byard from the Titans, according to NFL Network.
The Titans are receiving safety Terrell Edmunds, a fifth-round pick and a sixth-round pick from the Eagles, the report said.
Byard, 30, was a Pro Bowler and All-Pro in 2017, when he led the NFL with eight interceptions, and in 2021.
A third-round pick in 2016 out of Middle Tennessee, Byard has 27 interceptions, 63 passes defended and 674 tackles across 120 career regular-season games.
The addition of Byard, who was born in Philadelphia, is a boost for a defense that is seventh-best in the NFL in yards against (290.3), a year after finishing as the second-best defense.
