A 15-year-old Ohio high school student allegedly punched a teacher in the head while hallucinating on drugs — leaving her with a “severe brain injury” that required the removal of her skull cap.

The Colerain High School student began acting “distraught” after he “ingested an unknown drug” in a classroom Thursday, according to a police report cited by WLWT.

He allegedly punched the 60-year-old teacher in the head and caused “a severe brain injury requiring extensive medical treatment,” according to The Cincinnati Enquirer, citing the incident report.

The teen also was accused of attacking another 15-year-old student by grabbing him and pinching his neck, the news outlet reported.

The teacher was taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where she had her skull cap removed to prevent damage from swelling, Fox 19 reported.

Police found the alleged attacker in the school’s career center lobby, where he was apparently hallucinating and had a self-inflicted head wound, according to the outlet.

He was also taken to the hospital and then transported to the Hamilton County Juvenile Detention Center on a charge of felonious assault.

Lyndsey Creecy, a spokesperson for the Northwest Local Schools District, said the school was investigating the incident.

“We ask that our parents join us in keeping both our staff member and our student in your prayers,” states a letter from Colerain High School to parents.

The school emphasized that the attack “was an isolated incident.”

“There is no current threat to the school community regarding the matter,” the school said in a release, according to the Enquirer. “The district remains resolute in their commitment to providing a safe and nurturing environment for all students and staff.”

The incident remains under investigation and the student will face discipline from the school district, police said.
