A driver crashed into an exterior gate at the White House on Monday night, officials said.

The collision took place around 6 p.m. and the driver of the vehicle was taken into custody following the crash, according to Secret Service spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi.

“We are investigating the cause &amp; manner of the collision,” Guglielmi said in a statement
