The man who rushed the stage at Drew Barrymore‘s 92nd Street Y event on Monday (Aug. 21) — who identified himself as Chad Michel Busto — allegedly stalked another actress before targeting The Drew Barrymore Show host.

According to a number of social media posts made to an X (formerly known as Twitter) account under Busto’s name, he also has an obsession with Amber Heard.

In a series of alarming videos posted over the last few months, Busto claims that he’s “working on” getting Heard’s phone number, apologizes to her for missing her film premiere in Taormina, Italy, and even proposes marriage to her at one point.

While some videos show him asking random store employees to wish Heard luck, others show him directly addressing the actress — and her two-year-old daughter, Oonagh — himself.

“What’s going on, Amber? I will send a message later,” he says in a July 1 video. “Hope you’re doing OK. I hope we’re gonna see each other soon. And I love you, very much. And say hi to Oonagh for me. Oonagh, try to stay safe. Listen to your mom. And hopefully I’ll see both of you later.”

He captioned another post, “I AM MADLY AND DEEPLY IN LOVE WITH U ❤️MEANING U + ME + OONAGH + ALL OUR FRIENDS + FAMILY FOREVER.”

The concerning behavior is reportedly not unusual for Busto, who has a long criminal record. According to The Daily Beast, a user named C. Michael Busto joined an online forum in March 2023 that discussed Heard. He was banned one month later for “sexual harassment,” “threats” and “stalking.”

Meanwhile, one of the forum’s administrators did some research into his name and found that he had allegedly been arrested and charged with enticing a child for indecent purposes in 2012, arrested again for indecent exposure after a witness reported a man “acting crazy like he was on drugs” in 2017, and pleaded no contest to misdemeanor battery after launching a tirade on a Trader Joe’s employee who asked him to wear a mask in 2020.

Busto made headlines earlier this week after accosting Barrymore at the 92nd Street Y in New York City, where she was holding a discussion with Reneé Rapp. In a the viral video, he approaches the stage, telling The Drew Barrymore Show host, “You know who I am. I need to see you at some point while you’re in New York.”

The Sex Lives of College Girls star quickly escorted Barrymore off the stage, where they remained for a few moments before coming back out and resuming the event.

“I have a new definition of your sexiness,” Barrymore told Rapp, referring to her quick-thinking. “It’s that level of protectiveness. That went full Bodyguard. You are my Kevin Costner!”

Busto was not arrested for the incident.
