We suspect that someone’s husband is going to have a stern talking to tonight after he enthusiastically jumped at the opportunity to kiss Drew Barrymore during this morning’s episode of The Drew Barrymore Show — with his wife sitting right next to him!

When the host welcomed Jim Gaffigan to the stage, the comedian stoically made his way over to one lucky audience member’s seat, where he proceeded to sit on her lap.

“Drew, I have diarrhea. Really bad. And this woman’s getting really, really comfortable,” he joked before finally joining Barrymore on the stage.

Gaffigan — who told the woman that she’s “really hot” — asked if the man sitting next to her was her husband. When she said he was, he quipped, “Not for long.”

Meanwhile, Barrymore reminded the audience that she’s still single and proposed that they “maybe just make a swap.” The odd-ball idea prompted Gaffigan to suggest, “Why don’t you kiss him right now?”

As Barrymore made her way to the man, he eagerly stood up and leaned in before Gaffigan pulled them apart just before their lips were about to touch.

“Just so you know, I would’ve gone for the cheek because hoes before bros, if you know what I mean,” Barrymore clarified, as Gaffigan teased, “I don’t want to make this awkward but before the show, Drew said to me, ‘I want to make out with that guy.’”

While the Peter Pan & Wendy star added, “I was like, ‘I think that’s his wife,'” the actress replied, “It’s true!”

Things eventually returned to normalcy as Barrymore revealed that Gaffigan played a part in helping her land her daytime talk show when the duo worked together on her “audition” for the network.

“You and I did a Rocky sketch where you’re my coach getting me ready to host the show,” she said. “You did that with me. I asked you a favor — would you come help me pull something off so maybe I could prove I could do this? You made everybody laugh the most!”

Gaffigan naturally turned the conversation into something worth cackling over as he responded, “I want people to know that the only reason I did that — it was explained to me that you were dying.”
