This morning’s episode of The Drew Barrymore Show was appropriately titled the “Breast Show Ever” as host Drew Barrymore hosted a round-table discussing everything from breastfeeding to finding the right bra size.

In the second half of the hour, Barrymore spoke candidly about her experience as a new mom with actress Ilana Glazer, Drew Crewer Valerie Bertinelli and board-certified OBGYN Dr. Kameelah Phillips.

“I found it very strange when people would come up to me, who I didn’t know, and ask me if I was gonna breastfeed,” Barrymore admitted. “I was like, ‘What are you talking about? We don’t even know each other and yet you’re talking about my personal anatomy.’”

Glazer chalked the question up to women’s bodies being “policed” and “politicized” so often.

“Everybody, even women, thinks that they can reach out and touch you, ask you about what’s under your clothing, in a crazy way that we don’t do to men,” she said. “It’s crazy and we don’t even realize that we’re making ourselves property or accepting the narrative that we’re property when we ask, ‘Are you gonna have a second kid? And did you breastfeed? For how long?’ It’s like, why don’t we become friends and then I’ll tell you about my chest.”

Barrymore — who shares daughters Olive, 12, and Frankie, 10, with her ex-husband Will Kopelman — often opens up about what life was like for her as a new mom.

During a November 2024 episode of her daytime talk show, she revealed how her “cinematic soulmate” Adam Sandler helped her feel comfortable enough to return to acting after she gave birth to her first daughter in 2012.

“I went and worked with Adam Sandler and that felt safe because I knew he had two daughters,” she said. “And he was someone I trusted with everything that I know and I just thought, ‘I’ll be adjacent to people who I know work and have kids and that will make me feel safer.'”
