What happens in a bathroom in the 1990s, ends up on The Drew Barrymore Show 30 years later. On this morning’s episode of the hit daytime talk show, host Drew Barrymore and actress Chloë Sevigny revealed that they once kissed in a bathroom at the Sunset Marquis hotel.
The steamy confession came up as the two women discussed Sevigny’s work in the 1999 biopic Boys Don’t Cry, which earned her a Best Supporting Actress nomination at the 72nd Academy Awards in 2000.
“We had a really amazing hang time at the Sunset Marquis hotel,” Barrymore recalled. “We were getting together, we had a long dinner. We were talking about a story that I was so passionate about, which ended up becoming a film that Chloë was not only in, but got nominated for an Academy Award for called Boys Don’t Cry.“
Barrymore — who was considered for the film’s lead role before it ultimately went to Hillary Swank — then decided to turn her “intimate fun moment” with Sevigny into a trivia question, which, if answered correctly, would award an audience member $1,000.
Jennifer, the audience member chosen for the game, had to simply answer whether Barrymore and Sevigny shared lipstick, toilet paper, or a kiss in the bathroom that night.
When they returned from the commercial break, Jennifer incorrectly guessed “lipstick.” However, Barrymore teased that she wasn’t completely wrong.

“Well, it did involve lipstick,” she said, while Sevignly coyly added, “It was the ‘90s.”
At long last, Barrymore finally revealed that she and Sevigny shared a “kiss” in the bathroom.
“It was the ‘90s. We were very free and just having the best time and it was just the sexiest, cutest [thing],” she gushed, before awarding Jennifer the full cash prize.
