Draymond Green almost can’t help but talk smack — and he lived up to his reputation during Thursday’s edition of “The Match.”
Green was not participating in the actual golf, but he followed from the sidelines as his longtime teammates Steph Curry and Klay Thompson faced Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce.
Curry and Thompson lost 3&2 to the football stars, and the match ended after 10 holes in the 12-hole event.
Green’s dig came after Mahomes made a comment alluding to the Warriors’ blown 3-1 NBA Finals lead in 2016 against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
“Y’all over here talking about 3-1, like Joey Burrow ain’t send your ass home a year ago,” Green could be heard saying.
Green was of course referencing the AFC title game between the Chiefs and the Bengals in 2021.
The Chiefs lost that game after holding a 21-10 halftime lead.
The Warriors star was a noticeable presence during the event, with him getting hyped after Thomas had sunk a putt.
Later on, he attempted to chug a beer — but had some issues accomplishing the feat.
Thursday’s “The Match” was just the second time that it didn’t feature any professional golfers.
It had originally aired as a challenge between Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson.
The list of past winners is extensive and eclectic.
Mickelson, Woods and Peyton Manning, Mickelson and Charles Barkley, Bryson DeChambeau and Aaron Rodgers, Brooks Koepka, Brady and Rodgers, Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas have all won in the past.
And you can add Mahomes’ and Kelce’s names to that list.
