NextImg:Drake reveals $500,000 bets on NBA Finals, Stanley Cup Final

The Champagne Papi will be looking to pop all the bottles of bubbly he can get his hands on with his two recent wagers to win the NBA Finals and the Stanley Cup Final.

Superstar rapper Drake posted two $500,000 bets, one on the Mavericks to win the NBA Finals at 2.75 decimal odds (+175 U.S.) and the other on the Oilers to win it all at 2.05 decimal odds (+105 U.S.).

Drake will win $525,000 if the Oilers win The Cup, while the Mavericks would net him $875,000 if the Celtics fall short again in 2024.

“Dallas cause I’m a Texan,” Drake posted on his Instagram account. “Oilers are self-explanatory.”

Drake is widely known for his “Drake Curse”, with many of the teams/individuals he backs losing.

Examples include Drake walking out with Conor McGregor — draped in the Irish Flag — before he lost to undefeated Russian champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Drake lost $2 million in 2022 and just last month lost $565,000 on Tyson Fury, who lost as a favorite to Oleksandr Usyk.

He even lost a $$500,000 bet on Israel Adesanya against Sean Strickland.

The music mogul was accused by Kendrick Lamar of having a gambling addiction amid their back-and-forth rap beef.

Famously from Canada, Drake was a significant voice for the Toronto Raptors during their 2019 NBA Finals run.

Naturally, Drake is looking to see Edmonton win the first Stanley Cup for a Canadian team since 1993 when the Oilers battle the Panthers.

Like Kawhi Leonard in 2019, Connor McDavid looks poised to put the team on his back in the Final.

Mavericks guard Kyrie Irving and Drake were seen partying together back in 2021, so there might be a bit of bias with his NBA wager.

Drake is picking against Barstool founder Dave Portnoy, who has $1.4 million riding on his hometown Celtics.

Bias aside, one of these two betting moguls will be winning big on the NBA Finals this year.
