Is Drake ready to finally squash his beef with Kendrick Lamar?

The Canadian rapper referenced his longstanding feud with the hip-hop icon on his latest album, “$ome $exy $ongs 4 U,” which was released Friday just in time for Valentine’s Day.

The project, which is a 21-track collaboration between Drake and PARTYNEXTDOOR, features a song titled “Gimme a Hug.” The catchy track includes several apparent nods to the drama that played out between him and Lamar over the past year.

Throughout the song, Drake implies that he’s ready to step away from the fighting and focus on having a good time.

“F–k a rap beef, I’m tryna get the party lit,” he raps.

Despite the attempt to seemingly make amends with Lamar through music, Drake’s lawsuits against Universal Music Group — for allegedly artificially boosting Lamar’s diss track, “Not Like Us,” and for defamation due to Lamar’s implication that he is a pedophile in the song — still stand.

“$ome $exy $ongs 4 U” was released just a few days after Lamar performed an explosive halftime show during Super Bowl 2025 in New Orleans.

The “DNA” rapper’s performance — which included a much-anticipated rendition of his Grammy award-winning Drake diss, “Not Like Us” — was the most watched halftime show in recorded history, according to the NFL.

As Lamar was entertaining the crowd at Caesars Superdome, Drake was performing across the world on his Anita Max Win tour in Melbourne, Australia.

At another Melbourne concert later in the week, Drake switched up the lyrics to his song “Knife Talk” to tell his fans that he isn’t going anywhere.

“Beef is live, spoiler alert, this n—a dies,” he raps on the OG verse, which he changed to, “Beef is live, spoiler alert, I never died.”

“$ome $exy $ongs 4 U” is available now on all streaming music platforms.
