An Elite Eight participant will be decided Thursday in Los Angeles when the No. 1 seed North Carolina Tar Heels play the No. 4 seed Alabama Crimson Tide in the Sweet 16.
UNC is a four-point favorite on DraftKings Sportsbook, which seems reasonable. The Tar Heels have looked way more sturdy in the tournament so far, and they should be able to outlast a flawed ‘Bama squad.
It’s fair to say that UNC didn’t play its best game against Michigan St. in the Round of 32 … and it still won by 16 points. The Tar Heels have an apex guard in RJ Davis, a consistent double-double machine in Armando Bacot and the strong veteran presence of Cormac Ryan and Harrison Ingram.
Plus, head coach Hubert Davis has literally covered in every NCAA Tournament game he’s coached in, which shows how he gets the team prepared for big games.
Alabama has taken care of business to get to this point, but it looked fairly shaky in its R32 win over Grand Canyon. In two tournament games so far, the Crimson Tide have turned it over 23 times and that lack of ball security will come back to bite them against UNC.
