Dorit Kemsley and her husband PK Kemsley have shut down rumors claiming their 2021 home invasion was a staged storyline for The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
A few years ago, while PK was away in London, the couple’s home was invaded by two masked robbers, who allegedly held Dorit at gunpoint as she pleaded for her life and the lives of her two young children who were asleep in their bedrooms. The assailants ultimately spared their lives, taking valuables such as handbags and jewelry.
The incident, which took place shortly before Dorit began filming RHOBH Season 12, was documented on the series via security footage. Since then, Dorit has been open about her struggles with PTSD.
In a sneak peek for the upcoming episode of Bravo’s Hot Mic podcast, PK fired back at critics claiming the ordeal was staged, insisting that it “all fucking happened,” before explaining how his wife was able to call for help.
“Dorit pleaded, showed them where everything was and said she can’t phone anyone, she doesn’t have a phone,” he said. “And obviously, something triggered with that robber — or whatever you want to call him — that he did actually leave the phone on the floor. That’s what he did, and that’s how she managed to call me.”
Dorit, for her part, added that she doesn’t “pay attention” to the “weirdos” making outlandish claims.
“Whatever I’m dealing with emotionally and protecting the family and so on, my energy has to be put towards getting better and living in the real world and not paying attention to these stupid, stupid things,” she said.
The reality star noted that she was also “hurt” after her co-star Garcelle Beauvais seemingly fueled the rumors in a recent confessional when she said, “The only time I notice jewelry is when after the robbery, Dorit still had hers.”
Aside from Beauvais’ confessional, Dorit said she hasn’t seen “a large number number” of comments about the invasion “not being real.”
“I’ve had a very, very different experience. I’ve had thousands of people reach out to me,” she said. “And those kinds of things, it’s almost shocking, like, ‘Wait a minute, this is, like, here, within [RHOBH].’ We have the reunion coming up. I’ll understand exactly what she meant by that and what she doesn’t believe.”
PK, on the other hand, wasn’t as surprised by Beauvais’ shade. After all, it is The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
“It’s the nature of the show,” he said. “The ladies get an opportunity to say things perhaps they wouldn’t say to someone’s face when they’re in a confessional.”
