Dolly Parton’s latest designs are taking flight.
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of her “Life is Like a Butterfly” album, the country music legend teamed up with Kendra Scott on a limited-edition jewelry collection filled with sentimental styles.
“We just clicked,” Scott told People of their partnership, which started backstage at a concert in Austin, Texas.
“We just really got along great, and she had known about my jewelry, and here we are,” she added.
The resulting 10 pieces feature plenty of Parton’s signature butterfly motif, including a matching pink wing-adorned statement bracelet ($175), cocktail ring ($80) and both small ($75) and large stud earrings ($98).
But the similarly iridescent 1974 Butterfly Statement Necklace ($350) just might be the pièce de résistance — only 1,974 were made, nodding to both Scott’s birth year and the release of Parton’s iconic album.
“The butterfly represents so much to both of us,” Scott told People. “It’s about transformation.”
Several of the designer’s most instantly recognizable gemstones are also represented in the collection, including her bestselling, celeb-adored Elisa pendant — this time reimagined as a double-strand design, the Elisa Convertible Butterfly Necklace ($98).
The “9 to 5” singer herself starred in the accompanying campaign, modeling maximalist pieces like the shimmering Gold Crystal Earrings ($198) and Gold Statement Wrap Necklace ($250).
It’s just the beginning of the dynamic duo’s multi-year partnership, which is slated to feature additional drops.
“What she saw is a tasteful side of me,” Parton told People, before quipping, “But Lord knows what we might do next.”
