Happy Memorial Day weekend! If you’re looking to kick back and relax with a familiar episode of Yellowstone, well, good news! Paramount Network is airing a marathon of Taylor Sheridan’s (or Danny Boyd to all you Veronica Mars fans out there in TV land) immensely popular Western saga, which continues this morning at 10:00 a.m. ET with the Season 3 episode “An Acceptable Surrender.”
We also have an exciting update on the next new episode of Yellowstone finally premiering on Paramount Network. Earlier this week, the network announced that the series has finally resumed filming! Patience really is a virtue, I guess. More on all that below.
If you’re looking to rewatch past installments, every episode of Yellowstone is currently streaming on, you guessed it, Peacock! When exactly does Yellowstone return with new episodes? What’s the latest on all that Kevin Costner/Yellowstone drama? Here’s everything we know.
Yes! But… we’re sorry to say… it’s a rerun. Paramount Network is airing a Yellowstone marathon for the holiday weekend. The action continues this morning at 10:00 a.m. ET with Season 3, Episode 3 (“An Acceptable Surrender”).
The marathon airs today from 10:00 a.m. to 12:45 a.m. and resumes Monday at 10:00 a.m. ET.
That’s the million-dollar question. Remember when Yellowstone Season 5, Part 2 was originally supposed to debut in the summer of 2023? Good times. Good times.
Thankfully, we do have some new information to report. Back in November 2023, Paramount Network announced that Yellowstone would return with new episodes in November 2024, and it looks like, for now at least, we’re on track for that November return. Why? Because on Monday, May 20, we got official word from Paramount Network that Yellowstone has resumed production! The network announced that the series is “currently filming in Montana” and “slated to return in November.”
Yee, and may I add, haw.
Decider’s Nicole Gallucci recently did a tremendous job of breaking down all the messy, messy drama surrounding Kevin Costner and Yellowstone:
In May 2023, it was confirmed that Yellowstone Season 5 would be the show’s final season, which means a sixth season likely won’t happen, with or without Costner. Two new spinoffs — currently titled 1944 and 2024 — are, however, in the works.
No plot details for 1944 or 2024 are available, but Variety reports that 2024 is expected to begin airing following the conclusion of Yellowstone, with the show featuring “new cast members and locations with some crossover characters as well.” This is the series that could potentially include Matthew McConaughey, who’s been rumored to star in a Yellowstone spinoff since April 2023.
Yellowstone star Cole Hauser, who plays Rip on the series, also teased a potential future project with his co-star Kelly Reilly, who portrays his wife Beth Dutton.
“I know that there’s some stuff on the horizon when it comes to Taylor [Sheridan]’s ideas for Kelly Reilly and myself and some of the other cast,” Hauser told Country Living in an April 2024 interview. “I’m excited to see where he goes creatively with that but right now it’s just, let’s finish strong; let’s do the best we can.”
Kevin Costner’s multi-part Western movie Horizon: An American Saga — which he starred in, directed, co-wrote, and produced — is scheduled to premiere in theaters on June 28, with Part 2 releasing on August 16.
