A Dodgers fan got knocked unconscious during a brawl outside Dodger Stadium on Tuesday night.
Cell phone video emerged of a melee that took place after the Dodgers vs. Twins game earlier this week, featuring a number of combatants.
There was one fan, in a Clayton Kershaw jersey, who was hit with a knockout blow, and proceeded to stumble and hit his head on the ground.
“They started pushing each other and then they got into a fight … and then a couple of seconds later (one guy) was knocked out on the floor, unconscious,” witness Jonathan Lopez told KTLA, adding that the brawl began around 10:15 p.m. outside the centerfield entrance to the stadium.
Lopez told the outlet that the fight was eventually broken up by security guards, that the man who was knocked unconscious was taken away on a stretcher and that the fan who threw the punch was put in handcuffs.
“I honestly don’t know what started it,” Lopez continued. “You could tell some of them were drunk … and some of them were almost drunk.”
Neither the medical status of the man who was knocked out nor if the man who punched him is facing criminal charges is known.
The Los Angeles Police Department told KTLA on Thursday that it had no information pertaining to the incident.
This brawl was at least the second major fan fight in or around Dodger Stadium this season.
During a 5-2 Dodgers win over the Rockies in early April, stadium security guards could be seen breaking up multiple fights on a video that circulated on social media.
At least two men were held by security in wake of the incident.
Earlier this week, video emerged of a male Cleveland Guardians fan hitting and pushing a woman in a dispute that occurred during a game between the Guardians and Angels.
