We’re about to enter the final month of the fantasy baseball season, and things likely got significantly more difficult for some fantasy rotations this week when Zack Wheeler and Nathan Eovaldi were lost for the season. 

Does losing a potential Cy Young candidate just before the fantasy playoffs hurt? Of course, 100 percent. Does that mean it’s the end of your season? Absolutely not.

You may not be able to find a bona fide ace on the waiver wire, but you should be able to find a widely available pitcher who can look like one against a soft schedule down the stretch. 

The Dodgers’ Emmet Sheehan, who missed the entire 2024 season after undergoing Tommy John surgery, is coming off a dominant outing against the Reds, his second straight quality start. He allowed two hits over seven scoreless innings while striking out 10 and issuing one free pass. Of his 96 pitches, 18 were swinging strikes (18.8 percent).
