The Dodgers are moving on from Alexis Diaz.
Los Angeles designated Diaz, 28, for assignment on Thursday, the team announced.
During his short time in Los Angeles, Diaz posted a 5.00 ERA across nine appearances with the club.
Diaz’s last appearance with the Dodgers came on Aug. 17 before the team optioned him to Triple-A Oklahoma City.
His most recent stint in the minors saw him experience even less success, as the former All-Star gave up four earned runs in just 3⅓ innings pitched.
Diaz was traded to the Dodgers from the Reds earlier this season after the righty had a rough start to the season in Cincinnati.
In six appearances with the Reds, Diaz put up an abysmal 12.00 ERA, giving up four home runs in six innings.

Diaz’s 2025 season is a stark contrast from the rest of his Major League career, as he has put up 75 saves and 224 strikeouts in 187⅓ innings from 2022-24.
Following his departure from the Reds in May, Diaz was reportedly elated to join the Dodgers, according to his brother, Edwin.
During a broadcast on AM 570 in June, the All-Star Mets closer said that his brother “was happy” upon being traded to Los Angeles.
“He was happy when he got traded,” Edwin Diaz said then. “He was really happy. He called me, ‘Hey, I’m going to the Dodgers so I will see you next week or in the playoffs.’ So he’s really happy and I’m happy for him.
“Can’t wait to see him in the big leagues again and helping a team win.”
