Tensions were running high amid Chris Christie‘s latest visit to The View. On this morning’s episode of the hit daytime talk show, the former New Jersey governor snapped at Ana Navarro for sneakily trying to get him to endorse Kamala Harris for POTUS.
While Christie is no fan of Donald Trump, he spent a large chunk of his time at the Hot Topics table dishing on the faults in Harris’ campaign. However, Navarro scolded him for putting his attention on Harris instead of the bizarre things we’ve seen from Trump.
“We’re holding her to this high standard of her closing message needs to be ‘this and this and this and that,'” Navarro said. “His closing message is Arnold Palmer’s package, dancing for 39 minutes like a wacko, making fries at McDonalds. So, why don’t you talk about his closing message?! What do you think about that?”
Christie explained to Navarro that Trump “is who he’s always been and he’s not going to gain any voters in these last 10 days” before the election. But that wasn’t a good enough reason for Navarro, who called him out for “spending all this time criticizing” Harris.
“I’m not criticizing. Let’s be clear, Ana,” Christie fired back, to which Navarro replied, “Sounds like a criticism to me.”
The Republican politician told Navarro, “Well, then you gotta open your ears,” before adding, “What I’m saying is [I’m] trying to give her suggestions on how I think she can close the deal. That’s the difference. The bottom line is I’m not here to be a cheerleader for her. I’m here to say, based on what I’ve learned in politics over time, what she needs to do to close the deal.”

Their feud continued into the next segment, when Navarro asked Christie if the “best outcome” would be for Harris to win the presidency.
“She hasn’t sold me yet. I think I told you that this morning. I just told you that,” Christie said, while Navarro hit back, “I’m not asking if you’re gonna vote for her. I’m asking you is that the best-case scenario.”
However, Christie said her question was a “backdoor way of asking [him] the same thing.”
“Ana, you and I have known each other a long time and you gotta be much better than that to get me to come in the back door,” he snarked.
Navarro might’ve backed down after Christie’s NSFW joke, but a disgusted Alyssa Farah Griffin immediately muttered, “I’m in hell.”
The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
