Ex-Governor Andrew Cuomo urged New York Gov. Kathy Hochul to sue President Biden to recover the billions of dollars absorbed while grappling with the migrant “fiasco.”

“The emperor has no clothes,” Cuomo said of Biden in the latest episode of his “As a Matter of Fact” podcast

Cuomo repeatedly said the federal government headed by Biden is responsible for immigration and border enforcement, not New York City or the Empire State.

“The states should sue the federal government for the entire fiasco,” he said.

He likened Biden and fellow Democrats handling of the migrant crisis to “the army marching off the cliff, one after the other. It makes no sense.”

Cuomo, who resigned as governor in 2021 amid sexual misconduct accusations that he denies, said, “This is not a political issue when we’re doing something that hurts the public and makes no sense. We have to stand up and say, `This makes no sense.'”

He said the Biden administration should foot the entire bill for the migrant crisis and not saddle local governments — particularly New York City — with the costs. More than 113,000 migrants have received shelter and other assistance from the city since arriving by the busloads in the spring of 2022 — and some are working off the books in a growing underground economy and taking jobs away from citizens and other legal residents.

Mayor Eric Adams said the cost to help asylum seekers could hit $12 billion over three years. About half of the record 100,000 people in the city’s shelter system are asylum seekers.

Cuomo’s podcast aired early Wednesday, before the Biden Administration announced that the feds would give Venezuelan asylum seekers temporary protected status, making it easier for thousands of migrants in New York’s care to get work visas — follow appeals from Hochul and New York City Mayor Eric Adams.

“Right now, the migrant issue is chaotic — and I’m not even talking about the border,” the exiled governor said.

He called it “bizarre” that the federal government has kept migrants on the dole — being sheltered and fed with local and state taxpayer dollars — instead of allowing the states to issue work permits so they could take care of themselves.

“The states should just do it since the federal government has abdicated its responsibility,” said Cuomo. “The state must act to protect its own interest.”

“What is the federal government’s response? Sue the state? I dare them!”

During the podcast, Cuomo interviewed Assemblywoman Jaime Williams, who represents southern Brooklyn’s 59th District that includes the neighborhoods of Canarsie, Marine Park and Mill Basin that border Floyd Bennett Field, a national park that will be used as an emergency encampment for 2,000 male migrants.

They took turns bashing Biden and Gov. Kathy Hochul for using a national park as an emergency shelter.

“We are being violated,” Williams, a four-term Democrat said. “It’s an abuse of power.”

The lawmaker said she’s not concerned about stepping on big toes because the fight over Floyd Bennett Field is about putting “citizens over politics.”

A plaintiff in a lawsuit to block the use of Floyd Bennett Field as a tent city, she pointed to a federal law that forbids national parks to be used for housing. The state will pay $20 million for the city to operate a tent city there.

Cuomo said the $20 million in costs should be borne by Washington.

Williams complained that many of her fellow Democrats are “sitting in the bleachers” because the migrant crisis is a “very hot topic” and “they don’t want to ruffle feathers.”

But she said all New Yorkers will have to pay the bill.

“Throwing money at the problem is not going to solve it,” she said. “You are taking our cops to act as security guards in the migrant shelters … Are we protecting our fellow citizens?”

“Can the state sustain this? It’s an abuse of the taxpayer dollars.”

The assemblywoman said a neighbor just had his car stolen from his driveway.

The Brooklyn pol also said Hochul has “failed” New Yorkers who are “fighting to keep a roof over their head.”

She said children use Floyd Bennett Field for recreation and that it shouldn’t be treated any differently than Yellowstone National Park.

Since starting his podcast earlier this year, Cuomo has blasted Biden’s handling of the migrant crisis.

The White House and Hochul’s office had no immediate comment.
