NextImg:Dior launches luxury skincare for babies with $230 ‘scented water’: ‘First step into fragrance’

So this is how they get their baby soft skin.

Dior has launched a new line of infant skincare, including a $230 fragrance which they call “scented water” and a $115 moisturizer.

Described by the French fashion house as a baby’s “very first step into fragrance,” the costly “scented water” — named “Bonne Étoile,” or “Lucky Star” — is the revival of the luxe brand’s infant perfume line, Baby Dior, originally launched in 1970.

The perfume, sold in either a pastel pink or mint green bottle, incorporates notes of pear, wild rose and white musks, per the fragrance description, bringing “sweet childhood memories to life.”

“When I joined Dior in October 2022, one of the projects I had in mind was revisiting Baby Dior,” the brand’s perfume creation director Francis Kurkdjian told Women’s Wear Daily.

“Christian Dior evoked his childhood many times as a very happy and joyful period of his life,” he added. “The scent and the baby care line were discontinued, and I was eager to bring it back to life as a tribute.”

Kurkdjian, who joined Dior in 2021, met with the fashion house’s artistic director, Cordelia de Castellane, to discuss “working together to build back this university,” and thus, Baby Dior was reborn

The four-piece collection also features the $95 L’eau Très Fraîche cleansing water, although currently unavailable, which claims to soothe and clean children’s delicate skin.

With “95% natural-origin ingredients,” Baby Dior’s $95 La Mousse Très Foundate Cleansing Foam will “turn baby’s bath time ritual into a precious moment,” according to the product description.

The brand’s sold-out, pear-scented moisturizer, a $115 Le Lait Très Tendre Hydrating Milk, works to protect infants’ skin barrier, formulated with a pH similar to that of their skin.
