


Dion Stutts, an Arkansas football commit who played high school ball in Memphis, died Tuesday night after being involved in an ATV crash, according to multiple reports.
He was 18.
Memphis University School football coach Bobby Alston told The Commercial Appeal that Stutts, a defensive lineman at the school, died after an ATV accident on a family farm in Batesville, Miss.
“We’re going to miss that smile, miss that wonderful personality and we’re just praying for his family right now,” Alston told the paper.
The Panola County (Miss.) Sheriff also told WREG-TV in Memphis that Stutts died in an ATV crash.
According to TMZ, Stutts was “driving in a side-by-side with another person,” and the uninjured passenger sought help after the crash.
“We are heartbroken over the passing of Dion Stutts,” the Arkansas football team said in a statement posted on Twitter. “He was a tremendous young man with a bright future ahead of him. We were as excited to add him to our program as he was to be a Razorback. Our thoughts and prayers are with his mother Shante and father Dino along with his entire family as they deal with this loss.”
“My heart is aching right now!” Arkansas defensive line coach Deke Adams wrote. “What a wonderful you man with an amazing spirit! I’m at a loss for words! We love you Dion and you will always be a Razorback! Praying for his family!”
Stutts recently completed his junior year at Memphis University School, where he was also a wrestler, according to The Commercial Appeal.
“Our hearts go out to the family and friends of rising senior Dion Stutts,” MUS wrote in a statement on Facebook. “Counselors are available throughout the day in Sue Hyde gym to provide support in processing this loss. Senior Counselor Candy Harris invites boys to come talk and share their memories.”
