Emmy Sharrett and Will Kulp‘s relationship has been the center of Republic’s gossip chain on Season 3 of Southern Hospitality — but that’s largely due to an alleged drunken rant Kulp delivered about his girlfriend behind her back.

In an exclusive clip from tonight’s episode of Southern Hospitality, TJ Dinch and Bradley Carter finally confront their friend over the harsh things he said about Sharrett.

Dinch begins by asking Kulp, who spends most of the year away at law school, how things are in his relationship.

“Definitely better than when I’m in school,” Kulp admits in the clip, obtained exclusively by DECIDER. “I think school is so stressful that I project things onto the relationship sometimes.”

The former bartender’s confession ends up being the perfect segue into what Carter and Dinch actually want to talk about. They proceed to ask Kulp about the time he was “drunk” and “expressing [his] frustrations” about his relationship to random people at Republic — or, as Dinch calls them, “people that don’t matter.”

While fans of the couple (like myself) want so badly for this to be a baseless rumor, Kulp ultimately owns up to his sins.

“I mean, did it happen? Yeah,” he tells his friends.

We’ll get to see the rest of their conversation unfold in tonight’s episode — but based on the Season 3 cold open, things look like they’re going to get worse before they get better for Sharrett and Kulp, who gets accused of cheating on Sharrett when he’s away at law school.

When DECIDER talked to Dinch and Carter ahead of the premiere, they opened up about the “very hard conversation” they had with Kulp in tonight’s episode.

“When things like these rumors keep happening, and then you see in the first episode him going around town saying negative things, it became bigger than just private conversations between us and close friends,” Carter said. “It became a bigger issue when we started involving people that don’t care about their relationship, that aren’t invested in their relationship.”

Dinch added that things would’ve been different if Kulp vented about his girlfriend in private.

“But now that you have spoken how you truly feel out into the little tiny world we live in, in Charleston, things are out and I don’t want you to look stupid, and I don’t want Emmy to look stupid,” he told us.

Southern Hospitality airs Thursday nights at 8/7c on Bravo. New episodes are available to stream the next day on Peacock.
