The Diamondbacks pulled off the upset Tuesday night.

Arizona topped the Phillies, 4-2, in Game 7 of the NLCS at Citizens Bank Park to clinch a spot in the World Series for the first time since 2001.

They will face the Rangers on Friday night in Arlington, Texas, when the World Series begins.

Down 2-1 in the fifth, the D-backs knotted things up with a Corbin Carroll RBI single before Gabriel Moreno put Arizona in front with a base knock of his own.

Arizona added another run in the seventh on a Carroll sacrifice fly.

Closer Paul Sewald tossed a scoreless ninth to finish off the job.

The Diamondbacks (84 wins) are just the third team in a non-shortened season in the 162-game era to reach the World Series with no more than 84 regular-season wins.
