Two more Democrats are jockeying to run against lying Long Island Republican Rep. George Santos next year — former state Sen. Anna Kaplan and Nassau County Legislator Joshua Lafazan.

Kaplan, 57, who lost her re-election bid for a third term to the state Senate last year, filed papers with the Federal Elections Commission on Monday to run in the Third Congressional district that takes in parts of Nassau County and northeastern Queens.

Lafazan — who came in third in the Democratic primary last year for the House seat — has already raised $400,000 in his quest to win the Democratic nomination to challenge Santos.

A third candidate, St. John’s University law professor William Murphy, previously threw his hat in the ring to take on the loquacious liar.

Kaplan, who previously unsuccessfully ran for Congress in 2016, is a Persian Jew from Great Neck whose family fled Iran during the Islamic Revolution.

She has been active in the protest against the Boycott Divestment and Sanctions movement, which calls for institutions to divest from Israel.

She was not immediately available for comment.

Lafazan, 27, told The Post on Monday, “We’re all in.

“We’re going to make sure the national embarrassment that is George Santos retires into the sunset,” he said.

A fund-raising pitch to Lafazan supporters Sunday added, “Long Islanders – and folks from all over who believe in telling the truth – are signing on to elect experienced, honest leadership.

“The more people who see the work Josh is doing, the more our movement grows. And the more our movement grows, the louder we get. And the louder we get, harder it is for Santos to hide from his failures.”

Lafazan is also running to get re-elected Nassau County legislator this fall.

Santos — despite being abandoned by the Long Island GOP establishment — recently announced his re-election bid.

He had no immediate comment Monday on the new entrants to the race against him.

Lawmakers in both parties have called on Santos to step down after he admitted to lying about everything from being Jewish and working for Goldman Sachs and Citigroup to attending and graduating from Baruch College — where he also boasted he was a volleyball star.

“I am Catholic. Because I learned my maternal family had a Jewish background, I said I was ‘Jew-ish,’ ” he claimed to The Post at one point.

Santos also lied about his grandparents escaping the Nazi Holocaust, falsely claimed that his mother was killed in the 9/11 attacks and went for years by the fake name Anthony Devolder.

In addition, footage emerged of the openly gay lawmaker performing in drag in Brazil, after he said he never had. Santos also was accused of check fraud in Brazil in a 2008 case in which he recently copped to a plea deal with prosecutors.

Santos is under investigation by the House Ethics Committee for alleged unlawful campaign activity, violations of federal conflict-of-interest laws and sexual misconduct against an ex-staffer.

Federal prosecutors and the Federal Election Commission are also probing the murky origins of $700,000 in personal loans that Santos made to his 2022 campaign, along with his alleged apparent habitual falsification of campaign expenses.

Albany and Nassau County prosecutors are investigating the lawmaker’s numerous fabrications, too, after he flipped New York’s North Shore 3rd Congressional District to red.

Santos defeated Democrat Robert Zimmerman last fall to claim the seat, but it wasn’t until after the election that his numerous fibs were exposed, first by the New York Times in December.

Former Democrat Rep. Tom Suozzi previously held the seat but decided not to seek re-election and instead challenged Gov. Kathy Hochul in the Democratic primary, losing badly.
