The Issue: The House testimony of two IRS whistleblowers on their investigation into Hunter Biden.
Wednesday’s Republican-led IRS whistleblower hearings into the possible corruption and preferential treatment of the Biden family proved enormously entertaining, not to mention deeply disturbing (“Don’t question the Bidens,” July 20).
To the surprise of no one, Democrats on the House Oversight Committee immediately proceeded to make fools of themselves, predictably veering off topic and repeatedly invoking former President Donald Trump’s name, despite Trump not being the focus of the hearings.
Committee Democrats openly competed with one another to see who could act like the biggest clown, childishly grandstanding and asking inane questions. There was an insanity to it all.
Perhaps someone should remind our Democratic friends that not everyone loves a circus.

Remember the quaint saying, “Nobody is above the law”?
Talk about a two-tiered justice system. Our Founding Fathers would surely be turning over in their graves.

Are the Democrats and their media enablers going to now discredit the IRS whistleblowers as Russian agents?
If you are going to say that Jan. 6, 2020, was a threat to our democracy, and I agree, how can you ignore this removal of the blindfold from the eyes of Lady Justice?
Our democracy is also threatened when the justice system is not equally administered.
To see what some in the political arena have gotten away with — and the coverup that has followed — is nauseating.
Watergate is G-rated compared to what is being revealed today, and the mainstream media has folded like a cheap suit. The public has been given watered-down news pertaining to these events.
Even more frightening is that the general public would never be given the benefit of the doubt in these cases, as the Biden family has been. A sad day for this country.

It is irrefutable that the whistleblower, Joseph Ziegler, is a man of courage and integrity and refused to succumb to a path that breaches ethical standards. We can’t call his action a political attack, since he’s a Democrat.
Kudos to Ziegler, a faithful American. It’s all about doing the right thing. He is clearly guided by his conscience.

The testimony of the two longtime, experienced and credible IRS whistleblowers showed that there was influence-peddling and perhaps criminal actions on the part of the Bidens.
Instead of questioning the witnesses about their findings and how they conducted their investigation, the Democrats on the panel resorted to their irrelevant and political narratives, making comments about Trump and systemic racism — in effect, failing to address the witnesses’ assertions.
The Democrats had blinders on and only attempted to obfuscate the issue that the IRS investigation into Hunter Biden was compromised by the FBI and Department of Justice. It was shameful to watch the Democrats’ actions in this hearing.

Whistleblower Joseph Ziegler, who showed a great deal of courage coming forward and testifying, said he wanted to do the right thing and he thought anyone in his position would do the same thing. Well, I know 51 men and women who wouldn’t.
My father told me people can take your money, home and job. But one thing they can’t take, and that only you can give up, is your honor.

The new norm seems to be party before country. It’s is no longer about right and wrong.
The Democrats, instead of questioning witnesses in the Hunter Biden hearing, gave speeches about Trump.
Both parties have made it obvious the party in power is above the law, and our democracy suffers.
