The Issue: Democrats’ fight against Trump’s illegal immigrant deportations over due process.
It’s pathetic, to say the least, listening to Democratic politicians scream about the rights of the deported criminal Kilmar Abrego Garcia while ignoring the suffering of the people illegal immigrants have traumatized (“Deport the Easy Way,” Rich Lowry, PostOpinion, April 29).
As a former law-enforcement officer retired from war wounds, I believe it’s my civic duty to inform the far-left Democratic anarchists that they have misconstrued the law of “due process” to fit their agenda. The reported illegals who crossed our borders during the Biden presidency have no due-process rights because they are not subject to our laws.

It seems Democrats are concentrating a majority of their time and efforts on the rights of immigrants here illegally — many of whom have committed violent crimes against innocent Americans. They should put some of their efforts into finding solutions for those who fought for our country instead of protecting criminals.
Unfortunately, seeking votes hinders any sort of rational action by this left-leaning political party with distorted priorities.

Just as how we have customs agents assigned to certain foreign countries, I suggest we do the same with the immigration courts. If a court eventually rules in favor of an immigrant, then he or she can be allowed entry back into America. If not, then the immigrant will already be in his or her home country.

Democrats are hellbent on Garcia — who has been accused of domestic violence, and is accused of being a violent gang member, human trafficking and coming here illegally in the first place — receiving due process.
But what about those who were violently kidnapped, raped and murdered by illegal immigrants? They never received due process.
Instead of joining forces with Trump, who is fighting to make America proud, safe and great again, Dems have become cheerleaders for illegals, terrorists, rapists and coldblooded murderers.

The Issue: MTA CEO Janno Lieber’s challenge to find $3 billion in savings for a capital plan.
There is one thing I find hard to understand: Not too long ago, the MTA admitted it had lost millions of dollars because of false overtime, but now it can’t find that money (“$3B cut? Oh, rail easy,” May 1)?
Not once since the MTA admitted this, have I heard or read about what’s been implemented to stop this waste of our money.
CEO Janno Lieber may think it has been forgotten, but it hasn’t. We’re just waiting for an answer we may never see.

MTA bigwig Janno Lieber is all ecstatic that Gov. Hochul is funding his MTA capital plan to the tune of $65 billion, of which the MTA must contribute $3 billion through savings.
When was the last time the MTA saved anything? It wastes tax money like a drunken sailor.
