Demi Moore is reflecting on the “pressure” she placed on herself early on in her career, and the implications it had on her mental and physical health.
While speaking with CBS Sunday Morning, she revealed that she “did have experiences of being told to lose weight,” per Variety.
“And all of those, while they may have been embarrassing and humiliating, it’s what I did to myself because of that,” she continued.
Moore shared that she biked from her Malibu home to Paramount Studios — about 30 miles each way — to shoot Indecent Proposal and lose weight while she was nursing her daughter Scout Willis, whom she said “was, like, five or six months old” at the time.
“So, I was feeding her through the night, getting up in the dark with a trainer, with headlamp, biking all the way to Paramount, wherever, even on location where we were shooting; then shooting a full day, which is usually a 12-hour day; and then starting all over again,” she recalled. “Even just the idea of, like, what I did to my body, it’s, like, so crazy, so ridiculous.”

In retrospect, Moore added, “But you look back and you kinda go, ‘Did it really matter that much?’ Probably not! But at the time, I made it mean everything.”
She also looked back on shooting the 1993 erotic thriller during a Sept. 13 Drew Barrymore Show appearance, where she deemed shooting romantic scenes with her ex-husband Bruce Willis’ best friend Woody Harrelson as “weird.”
“It was like being with my brother,” she added as she feigned a gag.
